The Crazy Mountain Brewing Company’s website explains what “Hookiebobbing” is. It is a term for those who are on skies, who would grab onto the bumper of passing cars to tow them up to the lifts. I learn something new everyday. But now I am wondering why the Hell is there an elephant on the label of this beer. Oh, these crazy people over at Crazy Mountain!

I poured this beer into a pint glass, and it was a nice slightly hazy orange color with a white thin layer of a head, which retained and left small amount of lacing down the glass.

There is a good combination going on in the nose of this beer. I can pick up a good balance of hops, and malts. Biscuit, caramel, pine, citrus, and a crisp grass aroma are all present here. Very pleasing.

The flavor is also balanced, and not showcasing any particular ingredient here. There is some sweet caramel, bread-like flavors mixed well with crisp grass/pine hops. The end taste that lingers a bit is on the citrus side, like orange and lemon peel. The body is light-medium, with a crisp carbonation in the mouthfeel.

Overall, this beer was well worth the purchase. I am happy to have this bottle in my collection. I give Crazy Mountain credit for making above par beers.

Metal Connection: Wasn’t very hard for me to choose a Metal Connection here for this one. Crazy Mountain, weird beer names, trippy looking labels equals Cephalic Carnage. Easy! I went with one of my favorite songs by the band, “Dying will be the Death of Me” from their 2005 album, Anomalies.
