I.C.F.T.C. mini episode14

icftcep14top.jpg

Welcome to episode 14 of my mini episodes, which I call “It Came from the Cellar.” On these mini episodes, I will be reviewing a beer which I have held in my cellar for years. These episodes will be small with just one beer, one Metal Connection song and a Horror Movie review with the segment, Fright Feature Report. On this episode I reviewed RU-55 (Blend #7 03.16.17), a 7% Flanders Red Sour Ale fermented in neutral oak barrels for 8 to 14 months with their mixed culture prior to blending. They also brew this beer with three different base malts (Pilsner, Two Row, Munich) and four different caramel malts (C-60, C-120, Carared, and Melanoidin), which is different than their typical grain bill used in most of their beers. This beer comes from Jester King Brewery out of Austin, TX. I paired this excellent beer with a killer tune by the band Nominon from Sweden. I also watched and reviewed the movie Cadaver (2020), which is streaming on Netflix right now. Thank you for tuning in.

BeerMetalShow 49 | Confessions of a Serial Drinker

ep49top

Welcome to the first episode of 2023 of The Beer Metal Show Podcast. After much delay, I welcome you to episode #49. This one is titled “Confessions of a Serial Drinker” This is a play on words to the song Confessions of a Serial Killer by our featured band for this this episode, GOREFEST. I will take you through their entire career and play my favorite tracks from each of their full-length albums. This one was tough, as I am not a fan of every album they put out in their career, but the show must go on, so we all have to sit through a few pretty rough tracks today. I also drink and dissect 4 amazing beers from Eureka Heights Brew Co. from Houston, TX, Jester King Brewery from Austin, TX, No Label Brewing Co. from Katy, TX, and Saint Arnold Brewing Co. from Houston, TX. Each beer gets a great Metal Connection pairing. I also give you my thoughts on the MERCYFUL FATE concert I attended in Dallas, TX and a play by play of my birthday Houston brewery tour. You don’t want to miss this episode, it’s jam packed with head crushing Metal, and delicious Texas Craft Beer. Cheers Mother Fuckers!

BeerMetalShow 36(66) | Swamped in Beer

Welcome to episode 36, Swamped in Beer! On this episode I drank and dissected Craft Beers from Nine Band Brewing Company, Jester King Brewery, Independence Brewing Company and Martin House Brewing Company. As I usually do, the episode’s title is a play on words to a Metal song. In this case, the song is Swamped in Gore by the Brutal Death Metal band, Broken Hope. This was a very fun episode to put together. All the beers were excellent, and I really think the songs played on this one are fuckin’ bad ass. I really hope you all enjoy episode 36.

BeerMetalShow 23 | Damned Craft Drinkers (Cryptopsy/Vox&Hops)

ep23Top.jpg

Welcome to Episode 23 of The Beer Metal Show Podcast. On this episode, I had a small chat with Matt McGachy, the lead vocalist for the Death Metal giants, Cryptopsy. He also hosts his own Beer & Metal podcast called Vox & Hops. Please check it out! We talked Metal, we talked Craft Beer. It was awesome to meet him. I provided him and his band band mates some amazing local Craft Beer for them to try. One of which, was Even More Metal by Jester King Brewery in collaboration with Evil Twin. I happened to have an extra bottle of this beer, so not only did I provide him with one of them, I was able to later drink the other bottle for a full review on this episode.
