BeerMetalDude Review: 3.75/5

I have featured Tractor Brewing here on BeerMetalDude.com before when I reviewed their Farmer’s Tan Red Ale. I am thankful for my friend who brought us some different cans from this brewery a while back. I was only able to try 3 of their offerings and this one was the last of the bunch. I can hopefully get some more cans in the future from this Albuquerque, New Mexico brewery.

Just like their other cans I had, this one features an edited photo of a beautiful girl. This one is  a dark haired girl with big sexy eyes staring at you through some dark black framed glasses. The best part of this design is that she is shown with a thick white milk mustache that looks pretty nice on there. What a sexy can!

I used a regular shaker pint glass by Guadalupe Brewing Company. This beer’s appearance was very dark brown, near black topped with a half inch dark khaki foamy head. Great retention with a sheet of lacing down the glass.

The aroma was sweet bitter chocolate right up front, followed with light roasted coffee, toasted malts, dark bread, sweet sugar, milk, cream, marshmallow, and cocoa powder. The cocoa powder and sweet milk sugar lingered in the nose.

The taste was similar to the nose. Sweet bitter chocolate hit the palate first. Flavors of light roasted coffee, toasted malts, sweet milk sugar, cream, and marshmallow made up the body. Dark bready malts, and cocoa powder finish off the taste of this beer.

The body was thin with a slick, sweet mouthfeel. The finish was dry, which worked well with the cocoa powder aftertaste. There was a nice sweet film left on the lips after each sip, which was nice.

Overall this beer had nice a nice flavor, and I wanted to give this a higher rating, but the thin body knocked this down a bit. Still good though, and I could see myself drink this again. Definitely not a bad beer at all. I enjoyed the dry cocoa powder aftertaste mixed with the sweet milk sugar. I’d love to try this on draft, but unfortunately this beer isn’t available here, and I don’t see travel plans in my near future. One day, maybe…

Metal Connection: Wayd is a band that I wasn’t too familiar with up until this point. Even though they have been around since 1994, and have 4 full length albums released on various record labels, this just proves the world of Metal is just to vast. I was pretty impressed with this song, “Sperm, Milk & Fate” from their 3rd full length album, Decadance. Wayd’s genre according to Encyclopaedia Metallum is Experimental/Technical Death Metal with Jazz influences. NAILED IT! You can hear this all over this song from the opening note to ending note. This Slovakian band reminds me a lot of the American bands, Wicked Innocence, Human Remains, and a little Cephalic Carnage. I love the intro to this song, as it sets you up for whats to come next. It’s jazzy with a rock ‘n roll feel. This leads up right into pure chaos and awesomeness. I have actually heard this damned song so many times today while writing this.
